Thank you for your interest in applying to be considered as one of our authors in Mastering Our Mountains for Dads Volume 1. We are honored that you are interested in being a contributing author of Mastering Our Mountains for Dads. Messages from dads who have been there, done that… to dads (and families) who might need to hear our message.
Please complete the following information so we are able to consider your request and where your story and availability will best fit in our schedule and story line. We want to cover many aspects of fatherhood and do not want to duplicate any concepts or stories so we ask that you be transparent and detailed in your sharing below.
Although every chapter has a different topic and different content, there are a few elements that the most successful ones share. Please keep these in mind as you develop your chapter content.
Topic Basics:
Please share some description points about yourself here. Please be specific and thorough enough to help our approval team feel confident enough to make a quick decision from reading what you share. Also, a large part of our book will be focused on connecting a storyteller to the reader as it is often the personal connection that creates the deepest impact in a person’s life. Our goal is to touch, move and inspire others so we appreciate your thoughtful sharing.
If you are able to, please provide an outline of your chapter contribution and answer the following questions.
- What’s your basic premise for your chapter?
- Why is what you’re talking about important to the reader?
- List bullet points for takeaways from your situation:
- Who are you? (attach a professional resume if you have one, provide your social links, and tell us a story about who you are as a person, dad and contributor.
- What does it look like where your story started:
- What is your current situation?
- Share openly about the mistakes or challenges you faced during your experience: (that you are comfortable sharing with your audience. *remember that some content may be sensitive to someone else you love so we will help you consider everyone involved in this if you are selected but prefer you take the first steps).
- What feeling would you most like your readers to take away from your story?
- “Actionable” Advice: How would you advise your reader when it comes to your chapter topic? For example, if you’re a real estate agent talking about how to choose the best Realtor and dad at the same time, provide specific points for the reader to follow, such as “Make sure you person communicate well,” etc. Any personal stories that illustrate any of these points provide credible back-up.
